Aurora GreenFest Returns in 2026!
After a brief pause in 2025, Aurora GreenFest is back and brighter than ever for 2026—reigniting the city’s passion for sustainability, community, and positive change. Scheduled for Saturday, May 2, 2026, from 10:00am to 4:00pm in downtown Aurora at 18 W Benton Street (inside the former SciTech Museum and historic Aurora Postal Office), this beloved festival is ready to welcome residents, families, and eco-enthusiasts from across the Fox Valley region.
A Fresh Start for Sustainability After a Year’s Hiatus
Presented by the Mayor’s Sustainable Aurora Advisory Board and Aurora GreenLights in affiliation with the Conservation Foundation, GreenFest 2026 arrives with renewed energy and a bold mission: to catalyze a resilient future for the community. The hiatus allowed organizers to reimagine and enhance the festival, building on past successes while introducing innovative ideas and partnerships.
This year’s theme—Energy Efficiency—reflects Aurora’s commitment to empowering residents with practical steps to reduce their environmental footprint and strengthen regional resilience. Attendees can look forward to over 100 green vendors, an inspiring electric vehicle car show, local food trucks, live music, and a full schedule of interactive workshops and family activities. The event is designed for all ages, from young children to seniors, and offers hands-on learning along with fun entertainment.
GreenFest’s return comes at a crucial time, as interest in sustainable living, clean energy, and local food continues to grow. The festival aims to inspire both new and returning participants to take action, try new solutions, and support local initiatives that make the “City of Lights” a model for vibrant, equitable, and sustainable communities.
Whether you’re a long-time GreenFest supporter or a first-time attendee, 2026 is the perfect year to reconnect, learn, and celebrate together. Mark your calendar for May 2, 2026, and join Aurora in building a cleaner, greener future for generations to come!
